Who is this for?

The Product Management course provides essential knowledge related to successful and strategic product management in any business. Learners will understand the importance of developing and combining expertise in business acumen, technology and user experience to inform value-driven product development and management in organisations.

OVERVIEW

In this course learners will explore the importance of effective product management. The course will cover how products are managed from planning, to development, though to launch. Learners will have the opportunity to investigate market insights and unpack commonly used frameworks including the Business Model Canvas and Value Proposition Canvas, by applying them to a real world scenario.

  • The course consists of 6 modules
  • Learners are encouraged to spend approx. 10-12 hours per module over six weeks
  • Learners must complete two assessments at the end of module four and six to be successful
  • Learners will complete a business model canvas for a selected product, and provide an annotated bibliography, reflection, and justification of your decision making process
  • Learners will produce a thorough product development plan.
  • The course is built to support project-based learning, giving learners the ability to demonstrate real work completion which validates their skills and knowledge

Upon successful completion of this microcredential, you will be awarded TALENT’s Digital Badge to enable you to effectively articulate this skill to employers.

  • When does the course start?

    Facilitator-led course start times can be found next to the course names and descriptions.
  • How much time is required of me?

    Microcredentials typically require between 8 and 10 hours a week of course work. For Facilitator- led microcredentials, there is one hour a week of on-line instruction from the facilitator.
  • Do I have to show up for class?

    Attendance during facilitated time is highly recommended as it provides the most value to the microcredentials with time to learn from industry experts, network with classmates, and deeper understanding of content. However, attendance is not mandatory and all sessions are recorded and posted afterwards on CANVAS.
  • How am I evaluated?

    What makes a TALENT microcredential different is the final assessment. There are weekly multiple choice questions that will guide your learning progress then learners are given a final assignment where they will apply their learning to a practical assignment. A facilitator will evaluate the final assignment and award a digital badge if the final assignement is completed successfully.
  • How long is the course?

    Microcredentials are 6 weeks long with 6-8 hours a week of course work. Self-paced and hybrid learners have the flexibility to complete the microcredential over three months at their own pace.
  • Will this microcredential get me a job?

    Microcredentials are a great way to differenciate yourself when searching for a job. The digital badge can be added to social platforms and resumes to demonstate your skills. TALENT works closely with learners to guide and advise on learner's career journeys.
  • Is there any financial assistance?
