ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

 

TALENT is looking to add two (2) Directors to fill their available compensated board positions.

 

Announced by the university in February 2020, TALENT is a new enterprise dedicated to bridging the skills gap and providing students and new graduates with opportunities to enhance their job readiness.

 

TALENT works in close partnership with students and employers to assess skills gaps, and develop flexible programming and services tailored to the evolving needs of both learners and employers. The company is developing a proprietary, dynamic data driven model to engage with employers’ workforce planning to identify skills gaps in the post secondary education system’s standard curriculum, as a result of which it will either invest in the development of alternative credentials (such as microcredentials) or source existing skills development solutions for its customers that it will then verify meet employers’ hiring needs. TALENT is seeking to become Canada’s trusted lifelong learning partner.

 

The company’s early stage clients and partners include Ontario Power Generation, General Motors, Ontario Shores, Bruce Power, Lakeridge Health, SNC Lavalin, Ontario Bioscience Innovation Organization. Our existing board consists of distinguished leadership from Ontario Tech University.

OPPORTUNITY DETAILS:

 

TALENT is looking to add two new Directors to their Board of Directors. We are looking for individuals with edtech industry leadership experience (C-Suite), working at companies like the following: SkillSoft, Cornerstone On Demand, Pluralsight, LinkedinLearning, Salesforce training, Workday, Pearson and/or McGrawHill or who have themselves founded or co-founded an organization in the Edtech sector that has successfully reached, at a minimum, the scale up growth phase.  Applicants with experience exiting an organization in the edtech sector will be of particular interest.

 

Specific Industry experience: Edtech industry either in workforce development, skills training or corporate learning and development.

 

Skills Required:

 

Position A: B2C sales and marketing in a digitally enabled organization with a particular interest in candidates who have developed a high level of competency in growing and leading scale enrolment management businesses.

 

Position B: Startup financial management with a particular interest in candidates who have led an organization through growth to exit.

 

Expectations: Actively support the success of the organization through the startup phase to drive early revenue growth, with a particular focus on customer acquisition. 

 

We are looking for individuals who are willing to ‘roll their sleeves up’ and work alongside us to grow this business. This will be a remote position where, at a minimum, your engagement will include quarterly Board meetings and monthly calls to discuss and provide expertise related to TALENT’s initiatives and progress to date. 

 

Compensation: Annual stipend plus expenses
