The course is aimed at professionals in the energy sector looking to develop their excel skills at a basic and generic level. Learners fairly new to Excel, or those that use Excel for narrow tasks, will have the opportunity to learn foundational Excel functionality.
This nanocredential is designed to reflect real world data workflows that you may come across in your daily work. The majority, if not all, of business tasks involve or can be coded as data. With a wealth of information available to us, and the need to share it in a meaningful way with others, it is important that staff are able to effectively create intelligence out of this data.
Co-designed by OPG and TALENT, the activities in this nanocredential will enhance your Excel skills to handle raw data as an object and manipulate seemingly separate data into information in response to a specific query. Skills in data handling and manipulation allow organizations to maximize resources by automating some common data tasks. Automating workflows is no longer a nice-to-have, but a requirement in the 21st century workplace.
In addition to the digital badge awarded by TALENT when competency is verified, learners will have the opportunity to secure a second Excel microcredential from Ontario Tech University following the successful submission of another separate assessment activity. All digital badges can be used to articulate the skills and competencies developed either on your digital resume, on platforms such as LinkedIn or by adding to your digital profile.
