The Cybersecurity for Business course is intended for professionals looking to gain valuable skills related to the cybersecurity sector.

OVERVIEW

This course provides essential knowledge related to critical cybersecurity concepts and practices for any business. Learners will understand the importance of developing and combining expertise in cloud and software platforms, common security threats, tools and resources, and stakeholder management. Drawing on best practices from global cloud leader Amazon Web Services (AWS), learners will become familiar with popular AWS products and services that many organisations are adopting. Learners will: Understand the cyber security risk landscape; articulate preventive and responsive measures based on specific organizational contexts; and consider legal and regulatory implications associated with proactive cyber security practices.

The course consists of 6 modules
Learners are encouraged to spend approx. 8-10 hours per module
Learners must complete one assessment at the end of module six to be successful, consisting of the development of a cyber security strategy plan aligned with a business scenario
The course is built to support project-based learning, giving learners the ability to demonstrate real work completion which validates their skills and knowledge

Upon successful completion of this microcredential, you will be awarded TALENT’s Digital Badge to enable you to effectively articulate this skill to employers.

When does the course start?

Self-paced and hybrid courses start on the day you recieve your CANVAS log-in (typically 1 day after registration).
How much time is required of me?

Microcredentials typically require between 8 and 10 hours a week of course work. For Facilitator- led microcredentials, there is one hour a week of on-line instruction from the facilitator.
Do I have to show up for class?

Attendance during facilitated time is highly recommended as it provides the most value to the microcredentials with time to learn from industry experts, network with classmates, and deeper understanding of content. However, attendance is not mandatory and all sessions are recorded and posted afterwards on CANVAS.
How am I evaluated?

What makes a TALENT microcredential different is the final assessment. There are weekly multiple choice questions that will guide your learning progress then learners are given a final assignment where they will apply their learning to a practical assignment. A facilitator will evaluate the final assignment and award a digital badge if the final assignement is completed successfully.
How long is the course?

Microcredentials are 6 weeks long with 6-8 hours a week of course work. Self-paced and hybrid learners have the flexibility to complete the microcredential over three months at their own pace.
Will this microcredential get me a job?

Microcredentials are a great way to differenciate yourself when searching for a job. The digital badge can be added to social platforms and resumes to demonstate your skills. TALENT works closely with learners to guide and advise on learner's career journeys.
Is there any financial assistance?
