This microcredential aims to address the gap in mental health care environment and better prepare nurses who are working in mental health care settings.
This microcredential is designed to enhance learners skills when delivering human services and better prepare nurses and other medical professionals working in healthcare to understand prevalent diagnoses while applying corresponding interventions and person-centered care principles to a variety of scenarios with a standard of practice free from stigma and discrimination. Learners will identify the most prevalent diagnoses in the five major mental health disorder categories and apply corresponding nursing interventions through a series of real-world case studies. This includes objectively assessing, documenting and monitoring patients/clients through a non-stigmatized approach.
